The Man Who Can't Get Fat

Mr Perry, 59, can eat whatever he likes - including unlimited pies, burgers and desserts -

and never get fat. He cannot put on weight

because of a condition called lipodystrophy that

makes his body rapidly burn fat. He used to be a chubby child, but at age 12 the

fat dropped off "almost over night". He initially

tried to eat more to gain weight, but it had no

effect. Mr Perry, of Ilford in Essex, endured a

decade of tests before the illness was diagnosed.

It finally emerged that his body produces six times the normal level of insulin. Doctors have

admitted that the condition would be a

"slimmer's dream".

Morning Glory Pool, Yellowstone National Park.

Morning Glory Pool is a hot spring in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park in the United States. The pool was named by Mrs. E. N. McGowan, wife of Assistant Park Superintendent, Charles McGowan in 1883. She called it "Convolutus", the Latin name for the morning glory flower of which the springs resemble. By 1889, the name Morning Glory Pool had become common usage in the park. Elevation is 7,300 feet (2,225 M) depth. The distinct colour of the pool is due to bacteria which inhabit the water. On a few rare occasions the Morning Glory Pool has erupted as a geyser, usually following an earthquake or other nearby seismic activity.
